John Frederick Kramer

John Frederick Kramer, 78, of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday, April 2,
2008, at Lewis Gale Medical Center. He was born at Grafton, W.Va., on
March 29, 1930, a son of the late Harold F. and Sadie B. Farrell Kramer.
John was a 1948 graduate of Grafton (W.Va.) High School and attended
Marshall University. John married Constance Elizabeth Williams on June
28, 1969, in Giles County, she survives him. John was a member of the
Cave Spring District Lions Club, where he served as President and was
honored with the presentation of the Melvin Jones Fellowship for his
service to his community, He shepherded the Lions of Virginia Ticket
sales and was an active pin trader. John was a former member of the
Salem Jaycees. John was a faithful member of Salem Presbyterian Church
where he served as an Elder and a member of the Choir. He was a retired
employee of Tidewater Supply. John leaves to cherish his memory, his
loving and devoted wife of 39 years, Constance Elizabeth Williams
Kramer; a stepsister, Angie Videll and her husband, Gene; loving
sisters-in-law, Dorothy S. Williams, Ethel Ropp and husband, Bob,
Margaret Stowers, Martha Sanders, and Alice Dowdy and husband, Eddie;
brothers-in-law, Tom Williams and wife, Loretta, and Jerry Williams and
wife, Phyllis (Snooky); and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. A
memorial celebration of John's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday,
April 5, 2008, at the Salem Presbyterian Church officiated by the
Reverends David Gellert and Janet Denton. Inurnment will be private.
John's family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m.
at the Salem Chapel of Lotz Funeral Home, 1330 East Main Street, Salem,

E. Miller, 82, of Kalona, died Saturday, March 8, 2008, at his home of
a lingering illness. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at
Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church in Kalona. Visitation will be from 4
to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Peterseim Funeral Home. Burial will be at Lower
Deer Creek Cemetery in Wellman.
